Job description

Title: Immigration Attorney – Bilingual
Location: San Antonio, TX (Remote)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Minimum Experience: Mid-level
Compensation: $95,000.00 – $120,000.00/year DOE

Since 2015, Lincoln‑Goldfinch Law has helped thousands of immigrant families navigate one of the most complex systems in the world, and we’ve built a team that genuinely cares about every single one of them. We’re 110 people strong, award‑winning, and growing fast. Our clients come to us during some of the most critical moments of their lives. That responsibility shapes everything about how we work.

We’re a team that shows up for each other. “That’s not my job” doesn’t exist here. When something needs to get done, we step up. We celebrate wins together, work through challenges together, and hold ourselves to a high standard, not because we have to, but because we believe our clients deserve nothing less.

If that sounds like your kind of place, keep reading.

The role

We’re hiring an Immigration Attorney to support our legal team in representing individuals in removal proceedings, with a strong focus on detained clients. You’ll report directly to the Managing Attorney and play a hands‑on role in case strategy, client advocacy, and court representation.

This is not a passive, advisory‑only role. You’ll be actively managing cases, appearing before immigration courts, preparing filings, and guiding clients through complex and time‑sensitive immigration processes. The work requires both legal precision and the ability to operate with urgency and empathy, especially when working with detained individuals. Exposure to or experience with habeas petitions for detained clients is required.

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in immigration law, particularly removal defense and/or detained cases, who can confidently navigate evolving regulations and procedures. The right person is detail‑oriented, responsive, and committed to delivering high‑quality legal representation while maintaining compassion and professionalism in every client interaction.

What you’ll do
  • Meet with clients to assess their immigration needs and determine viable legal strategies
  • Advise clients on available immigration options, clearly explaining requirements, risks, and timelines
  • Prepare, review, and file a range of immigration applications, including petitions, work permits, green cards, naturalization, and waivers
  • Represent clients in immigration court, including removal defense, asylum, and bond hearings before EOIR
  • Handle appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and other relevant courts, building strong, well‑supported legal arguments
  • Advocate for clients seeking asylum or other humanitarian relief, guiding them through case preparation and proceedings
  • Prepare clients for interviews and hearings, ensuring they are informed and confident throughout the process
  • Represent clients in deportation/removal proceedings, pursuing relief such as cancellation of removal, asylum, and adjustment of status
  • Stay current on immigration laws, regulations, and policy updates, applying changes to active and future cases
  • Collaborate with internal teams by providing guidance on case strategy and supporting client‑related inquiries

This list is not inclusive of the total scope of job functions to be performed. Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or modified at any time.

Who you are
  • Experienced in immigration law, with a strong focus on removal defense and detained clients
  • Confident in court, with the ability to advocate clearly and effectively under pressure
  • Detail‑oriented and organized, able to manage multiple cases and deadlines without losing quality
  • Compassionate and client‑focused, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive and reliable, able to take ownership of cases while working closely with a Managing Attorney
