Job Summary

Be able to identify the types of linens and their use along with proper cleaning methods. Ensure all dirty linens and clothing that is sent to the Laundry is cleaned to the highest possible standard.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Understand and operate all laundry machinery correctly to avoid damage to equipment, linens and staff.
  • Sort all dirty linen into types, including uniform and personal clothing.
  • Wash and dry all items in accordance with the correct wash and drying settings.
  • Check all linens and towels for stains requiring rewash and follow the correct rewash/discard procedure.
  • Use the flatwork ironer to iron necessary items.
  • Fold, stack, and store neatly all clean linens according to size and item.
  • Ensure all guest personal clothing is marked and recorded accordingly.
  • Ensure guest personal clothing is cleaned using the correct process and handled to prevent damage.
  • When packing guest clothing, ensure all items are packed and accounted for according to the laundry list.
  • Assist with inventories and keep a record of production and time where required in the Laundry.
  • Assist in new colleague job skill training as requested by superiors.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bending in an operational environment for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, reaching, and pulling.
  • Lifting and carrying loads weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Working in outdoor environments, including high altitudes, that may present extreme weather conditions such as snow, ice, rain, heat, wind, etc.
