Job summary

Brandon School District seeks an Adult Transition Program (ATP) Teacher (Special Education) at Brandon High School to support young adults 18–26 in transitioning to independent life. You will design and implement IEPs, participate in MET/IEP meetings, and partner with families and community organizations to deliver job coaching, independent living skills, and functional academics.

The role requires a Michigan Special Education endorsement and CPI training (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement.
• Experience with CPI training or willingness to obtain CPI training within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with students aged 18–26 in special education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create an inviting and structured classroom for diverse learners.
• Schedule and conduct MET and IEP meetings within required timeframes.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs per legal requirements and BSD standards.
• Collaborate with staff, parents, and community partners to provide work-based learning opportunities.
• Manage program budget and purchases; ensure compliance with district policies.
