Job summary

Calhoun Intermediate School District seeks a Teacher Assistant for the Adult Transition Program (ATP) to support daily instructional and behavioral goals under the supervision of a licensed teacher.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP-based activities, attending meetings, assisting with Community Based Instruction, supervising buses, gym, and playground, and maintaining records. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and two years TA experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years experience as a teacher assistant or evidence of advanced related training approved by the department.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher with IEP-based instruction and behavior activities.
• Attend weekly staff and team meetings.
• Support planning and implementation of educational activities; supervise students.
• Independently lead small group activities.
• Assist with supervision of students during bus loading/unloading, gym, and playground.
• Maintain classroom organization and prepare instructional materials.
