Job summary

Boeing's Millennium Space Systems ATLO team is seeking a seasoned Systems Engineering Manager (K level) to guide the space vehicle integration, test activities, and staffing across 20–25 direct reports. You will lead initiatives in recruiting, onboarding, and ramp-to-rate manufacturing, driving performance and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes coaching, goal setting, and cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality to achieve aggressive throughput

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering or related field.
• At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience).

Responsibilities

• Conduct quarterly/annual performance reviews; set measurable objectives tied to company Big Rocks
• Design individualized career growth plans, mentorship programs, and succession pathways
• Foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement; recognize and celebrate achievements
• Manage staffing levels, workload balancing, and resource allocation across ATLO projects
• Lead end-to-end recruiting: resume triage, phone screens, panel interviews, and offers negotiations
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure timely posting, candidate pipeline health, and compliance with hiring policies
• Develop interview scorecards and competency rubrics aligned with ATLO requirements
• Track recruiting metrics (time to fill, quality of hire) and report to senior leadership
• Lead process improvement initiatives to increase ATLO throughput toward target of 5 vehicles/month by 2026 and 10/month by 2029
• Map workflows, identify bottlenecks, propose practices
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality on tooling and test capacity
• Establish KPIs and drive data-based decision making
• Build onboarding curriculum for ATLO engineers, covering safety, processes, subsystems, and tests
• Implement hands-on labs, mentorship, and competency assessments to reach full contributor status
• Maintain knowledgebase and schedule refresher training
• Measure training effectiveness via skill-gap analyses and metrics
