The Regional Continuous Improvement Manager drives implementation of the Altium Production System (APS) across several pillar / elements of Operational Excellence: Safety, Quality, Daily Team Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Continuous Skills Development for designated plants. The Regional Continuous Improvement Manager assumes responsibility for the implementation of APS to designated regional plants, providing leadership, and coaching that result in excellence in productivity while maintaining the well-being of all plant employees.

Role will include, but is not limited to the following:

  1. Demonstrate leadership, high personal standards, ability to develop intellectual capital and professional ethics.
  2. Engage with Regional Operations Manager and Regional VP on regional loss elimination activities and planning.
  3. Support Operations Leadership in regional loss planning process.
  4. Educate, communicate, and work with all levels of manufacturing employees including senior leadership, plant leaders, and shop-floor employees.
  5. Plan, lead, and facilitate meetings / working sessions.
  6. Direct and lead multiple initiatives at once.
  7. Build and implement detailed project plans.
  8. Utilize computer skills necessary to build presentations and spreadsheets.
  9. Train Plant Employees and Plant Leadership in Altium Production Systems.
  10. Create and drive local loss planning.
  11. Lead Cross functional improvement teams.
  12. Lead local improvement work.

• Create APS Element content in conjunction with Element Owner. Provide feedback to customer service, sales representatives and plant leaders on status of work orders.

Required Education and Experience

  1. 10 – 15 years working knowledge and practical experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) including team development and coaching is required.
  2. 10 – 15 years Practical application of TPM and Continuous Improvement principles.
  3. Manufacturing operations experience strongly preferred especially in rigid plastics and continuous flow manufacturing.
  4. Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively assess situations and make appropriate decisions in a timely manner.
  5. Must be a team player and strong leader with the ability to influence organizational change.
  6. Must have the ability and desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment, be a self-starter and successful in working without close supervision while implementing APS standards.
  7. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Analytical mindset and ability to understand and organize data.
  9. Strong problem-solving skills.
  10. Multi-plant responsibility in assigned region.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred (any field directly related to the design and/or manufacturing of the primary products), or in a significantly related field such as business, planning or supply chain.
  2. Continued career interest in manufacturing, continuous improvement, plant operations / management, and senior management roles.

Skills:

  1. Demonstrated data retrieval, analysis, and reporting skills.
  2. Experience with ERP utilization, management, and optimization.
  3. Strong ability to retrieve data, analyze data and understand operational data.
  4. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  5. Adaptable & adjust approach to match varied task requirements.
  6. Ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping and safety practices.
  7. Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening) Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences, facilitate group coaching, and information sharing ability to positively confront and effectively deal with noncompliance through effective soft Skills.
  8. Ability to maintain a positive attitude and ability to empower people, specifically mentoring and coaching individuals in identifying short- and long-term development needs and providing appropriate support.
  9. Develop ability to build personal relationships based on trust, mutual respect and open communication.

Travel requirement up to 50% within region with occasional travel outside of designated region.
