Job summary

The Town of Parker is seeking a supervised sports program coordinator to oversee youth and adult game and practice sites. You will manage participants, volunteers, coaches, and spectators, keep scores, and resolve questions about rules on game days.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of how games are played, officiated, and managed.
• Ability to regulate crowd, participant, official behavior.
• Ability to meet and deal with the public and handle stressful situations professionally.
• Ability to use conflict resolution to deescalate situations.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and issue clear instructions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with evening and weekend hours.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Administers game/practice details and manages participants, volunteers and spectators.
• Keeps score at games and enters scores online when applicable.
• Responds to questions about rules during events and makes on-site decisions about crowd control and safety.
• Manages event setup and tear-down at various venues; ensures facilities and surfaces are safe.
• Enforces sport rules and policies; recommends changes as needed.
• Maintains positive conduct by enforcing codes of conduct and disciplining when needed.
• Handles inquiries from participants and community to resolve problems.
• May manage emergency or crisis situations and provide emergency care if required.
• Records important program information and reports as needed.
• Exhibits flexibility and sound decision-making in duties.
