Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking an Athletics Program Assistant for the Kroc Center Hawaii. The role supports the Athletics Manager in planning and delivering community athletics programs, coordinating with coaches and volunteers, and ensuring safety and mission alignment.

Strong communication, computer skills, and willingness to work evenings and weekends are essential. The position emphasizes service, inclusion, and positive community impact.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Service-oriented team player with initiative and adaptability.
• Strong interpersonal, phone, and written communication skills.
• Valid Hawaii Driver's License and insured transportation.
• Ability to understand and communicate The Salvation Army mission.
• Professional attitude and problem-solving and motivational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Work scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Support planning and delivery of athletics programs.
• Collaborate with coaches to develop curriculum.
• Assist gym attendants, coaches, and volunteers with the mission.
• Maintain records: data entry, registrations, attendance, waivers.
• Coordinate logistics with vendors and instructors.
• Manage inventory, budgeting, purchasing and tracking.
• Communicate with parents about injuries, scheduling, concerns.
• Ensure safe, educational field trips planning.
• Participate in staff and management meetings.
