Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center Hawaii in Ewa Beach, HI is seeking an Athletics Program Assistant to support athletics programming under the Athletics Manager. This role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to lead when scheduling requires, with a commitment to serving diverse communities.

Responsibilities include assisting with curriculum development, staff training, data records, budgeting, and coordination with vendors.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to learn new software; proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Service-oriented team player with initiative, adaptability, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, phone, and communication skills (oral and written).
• Valid Hawaii Driver's License and insured transportation (or able to obtain within 10 days).
• Understand and communicate The Salvation Army's Christian mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Work scheduled shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Support planning, coordination, and delivery of athletics programs and activities.
• Collaborate with coaches and instructors to develop curriculum and long-term vision.
• Assist gym attendants, coaches, and volunteers in aligning with The Salvation Army's mission.
• Organize and facilitate ongoing staff training and screenings.
• Coordinate logistics with vendors and instructors as needed.
• Maintain records, data entry, registrations, attendance, waivers, and staff files.
• Assist with inventory, budgeting, and purchasing of supplies.
• Communicate with parents about injuries, scheduling, and concerns.
• Provide excellent customer service and address participant concerns calmly.
• Plan and coordinate safe, educational field trips.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate athletics into broader initiatives.
• Participate in staff meetings and promote cross-team collaboration.
• Maintain professional interactions with staff, volunteers, and community members.
• Follow fleet procedures and safety certifications.
• Adhere to Salvation Army policies, procedures, and ethics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
