Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a part-time Sports Instructor for the Kroc Center Hawaii in Ewa Beach, HI. You will coach youth in soccer, volleyball, basketball or T-Ball, emphasizing character development, discipline and teamwork.

Your role includes organizing activities, mentoring junior staff, and helping with events while upholding the organization’s mission and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching sports (soccer, volleyball, basketball or T-Ball) at elementary level or higher.
• Experience working with youth.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, members, clients and customers.
• Must complete 2 hours of Child Safety training as approved by The Salvation Army.
• Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Must lift and carry at least 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage and coach the team, including recruiting and equipment management.
• Coach the team to maximize potential and retain athletes.
• Supervise coaching assistants as directed by Athletics Manager.
• Assist in fundraising and booster events.
• Organize activities, clinics, leagues and programs for all ages.
• Maintain safety and provide prompt service to staff and guests.
