Job summary

Bowie State University is seeking a Media Relations Coordinator to lead information for 14 intercollegiate programs. You will manage press releases, game programs, statistics and social media content, while coordinating with media and NCAA guidelines.

The role requires AP writing skills, media relations expertise and the ability to supervise student workers and vendors. This is a fixed-term, on-campus position in the Athletics department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing or related field and 2–3 years of relevant intercollegiate sports information/athletics media relations experience.
• Prepare, coordinate and pitch news releases and information about student-athletes and teams to media; write and design game programs, schedules and graphics.
• Coordinate liaison between athletics and media at local, regional and national levels.
• Maintain and update athletics website and publish content to social media platforms.

Responsibilities

• Disseminate press releases and postgame notes; prepare game programs and graphics.
• Staff home contests with clock operators, statisticians, announcers and media.
• Maintain accurate statistics and publish to conferences and NCAA; build digital records of student-athletes.
