Job summary

Southern Methodist University is seeking an Associate AD for Development to lead major and principal gift fundraising for Athletics, overseeing a high-performing team and collaborating with university partners to maximize philanthropic support.

The role focuses on developing strategic gift pipelines, soliciting major gifts, and aligning donor engagement with University priorities. Evening/weekend events and travel are required to advance fundraising goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Master's preferred.
• Seven years of major gift fundraising experience or equivalent.
• Experience developing fundraising strategies and managing major gift portfolios.
• Higher education or collegiate athletics fundraising experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects with targeted strategies.
• Lead the Athletics major giving team and set fundraising priorities.
• Coordinate donor engagement across university development partners.
• Serve as liaison to the Athletics Development Board of Directors.
• Represent Athletics Development at events and alumni programs; travel as needed.
