Job summary

Southern Methodist University is seeking an Associate AD for Development to lead SMU Athletics major and principal gift fundraising. The role directs the Athletics major giving team and coordinates with regional development officers and DEA partners to maximize philanthropic support.

A bachelor’s degree is required; seven years in major gift fundraising and higher education or collegiate athletics fundraising experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• At least seven years in major gift fundraising.
• Experience developing fundraising strategies and leading teams.
• Higher education or collegiate athletics fundraising preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Athletics major gifts team and set fundraising priorities.
• Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts.
• Collaborate with regional officers and DEA partners to maximize donor engagement.
• Represent Athletics Development at events and maintain prospect data in the CRM.
