Job summary

University of Utah is seeking an Athletics Assistant to provide general support for athletics facilities, events, and sports turf operations on campus. The role assists with day-to-day maintenance, event setup/breakdown, and operational support across athletic venues.

The position supports full-time staff, handles upkeep, and contributes to safe, clean competition surfaces. A valid US driver’s license is required and the role is part-time.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
• Climbs step ladders/scaffolding.
• Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while on shift.
• Must be able to lift 60 lbs and work extended periods in direct sunlight.

Responsibilities

• Assists with general upkeep, cleaning, maintenance, and operational support of Athletics facilities and event spaces.
• Supports athletic events through setup, breakdown, equipment movement, and other event-related duties.
• Assists with sports turf and grounds maintenance including mowing, raking, debris removal, field preparation, and related outdoor tasks.
• Helps maintain safe, clean, and functional athletic facilities and competition/practice surfaces.
• Performs other duties as assigned in support of Athletics facilities, events, and sports turf operations.
