Job summary

North Carolina Central University in Durham seeks a Director of Development – Athletics to lead the Department’s fundraising efforts and serve on the executive leadership team. The role focuses on identifying and soliciting major gifts, planning annual giving, and coordinating with Institutional Advancement to support 15 varsity sports and NIL initiatives.

A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is strongly preferred, with 3–5 years of frontline development experience in collegiate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years frontline development experience in collegiate athletics or higher education advancement.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge, ticketing systems and Adobe software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate and solicit donor prospects to meet NCCU Athletics fundraising goals.
• Lead moves management, prospect screening and donor stewardship with Institutional Advancement.
• Supervise Development Office staff and interns; participate on Executive Leadership Team.
• Collaborate on NIL initiatives, RevShare programs and donor communications.
