Job summary

Mercy Health’s Perrysburg Medical Center seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide clinical support to patient care, specializing in injury assessment, bracing, rehabilitation, and return-to-play training. You will coordinate care with therapists and other professionals, document treatments, and develop plans of care.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, NATA BOC certification, and current licensure. Preferred are a Master’s in Athletic Training and BLS readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required; Master’s degree preferred.
• NATA BOC Certified and current Athletic Trainer license required.
• BLS certification preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, required at hire for RSFH.
• 2 years of experience in equivalent setting (preferred).
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily clinical treatment of patients, supporting physical therapists in implementing treatment plans.
• Provide guidance to patients on exercise programs, treatment plans, bracing and scheduling.
• Manage and coordinate injury prevention programs for athletes, and cash-based functional return-to-play programming.
• Coordinate care with outreach athletic trainers, physical therapists and other medical professionals to optimize physician clinical throughput.
• Document injury treatments and develop plans of care.
• Maintain competency through continuing education, in‑services, and other learning opportunities.
