Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine is seeking a Work Ready Specialist (Athletic Trainer) for our Hampton, VA site. The role focuses on promoting injury prevention, providing on-site first aid, and delivering ergonomic coaching within a busy occupational health setting.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, current Athletic Trainer license or eligibility, CPR/BLS, and at least 1 year of customer service or patient care experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Valid Athletic Trainer license or eligibility.
• Minimum 1 year customer service/patient care experience.
• Ability to meet physical demands (lift up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Promote injury prevention and first aid on-site to reduce musculoskeletal risk.
• Build relationships with employees and encourage early reporting of health concerns.
• Design and lead warm-up, stretching, and mobility routines for shifts.
• Provide on-site care and ergonomic coaching for work-related discomfort.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend adjustments to reduce strain.
• Monitor participation and injury trends to improve programs.
• Document interactions and safety metrics for reporting.
• Support return-to-work coordination with supervisors and medical staff.
