Job summary

CORE Occupational Medicine is seeking an Athletic Trainer (Work Ready Specialist) for our Hampton, VA site. The full-time role runs Monday–Friday, day shifts, with a focus on injury prevention, acute care, and wellness programs for employees.

You will conduct ergonomic assessments, lead warm-up routines, and provide real-time care on-site while coordinating with Safety and Medical teams to support safe return-to-work. Opportunities to advance in occupational health and wellness are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.
• Valid Athletic Trainer license (in good standing) for each state of service.
• CPR/BLS certification (current).
• Ability to meet physical demands of on-site work (lifting up to 50 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Deliver proactive injury prevention and first aid triage services on site.
• Build strong relationships with employees through consistent onsite presence.
• Design and lead job-specific warm-up, stretching, and mobility routines.
• Provide onsite support for work-related and non-work-related discomforts.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend adjustments to reduce risk.
• Monitor participation and injury trends to improve programs.
• Document daily interactions and musculoskeletal risk factors for safety decisions.
• Provide regular reports to the Project Manager on program impact.
