Job summary

Morgan State University seeks an Athletic Trainer to support the Athletics Department with prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries under the Head Athletic Trainer and Team Physician. The role includes on-site medical coverage for practices and games, injury status communication, and coordination with coaches and medical policies to ensure safety and compliance.

A Bachelor’s degree is required, with NATABOC certification, CPR/First Aid, and licensure

• Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• At least one (1) year of work experience on a collegiate level is required.
• NATABOC Certification at the time of hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification is required.
• Eligibility for Maryland State Licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the management and administration of the total athletic trainers program, generally dealing with prevention, evaluation, care, and rehabilitation of student athlete injuries.
• Provide medical coverage for assigned sport practices, home and away contests.
• Communicate the status of injured athletes to Head Trainer and Team Doctor.
