Job summary

The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking an Athletic Trainer to assist in prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer and Team Physician.

Responsibilities include clinical coverage for practices and contests, injury status communication, coordination with coaches and adherence to medical standards, with opportunities to contribute to program administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • NATABOC certification at the time of hire.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
  • Eligible for Maryland State Licensure.
  • At least 1 year of collegiate-level experience preferred.

  • Provide medical coverage for practices and home/away contests.
  • Communicate injury status to Head Athletic Trainer and Team Physician.

Job Summary

The incumbent for this position will assist with the prevention,evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injury andillnesses under the direction of the Head Athletic Trainer and TeamPhysician.

Job Duties
  • Assist with the management and administration of the totalathletic trainers program, generally dealing with prevention,evaluation, care, and rehabilitation of student athleteinjuries.
  • Provide medical coverage for assigned sport practices, home andaway contests.
  • Communicate the status of injured athletes to Head Trainer andTeam Doctor.
  • Communicate and coordinate with respective coaches, currenthealth care standards and implementation of medical policies andprocedures.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
Requested Minimum Qualifications
Education

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in AthleticTraining or a related field from an accredited college oruniversity.

Experience

At least one (1) year of work experience on a collegiate level isrequired.

Candidate must have NATABOC Certification, at the time ofhire.

Other Preferences for Consideration
Preferences

A Master’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field from an accredited university is preferred.
