The Certified Athletic Trainer is a Virginia licensed health‑care provider within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. The individual in this position is responsible for assisting the Head Athletic Trainer in managing the medical treatment and healthcare of all intercollegiate student‑athletes. The Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for assisting the Head Athletic Trainer in maintaining medical records, arranging preseason physicals, coordinating medical coverage for events, rehabilitation of post‑injury and post‑surgical student‑athlete patients, and supervising athletic training students.
