Job summary

North Central Texas College in Gainesville is seeking an Athletic Trainer to support student-athlete health, monitor conditioning, and ensure NJCAA compliance. You will collaborate with athletic staff and administration to prepare, monitor, and evaluate health and wellness.

The role includes budget/inventory management, recruiting student trainers, attending practices, and overseeing insurance requirements; travel between campuses is expected, including after-hours events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or Sports Medicine or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• LAT - Licensed Athletic Trainer required; ATC - Athletic Trainer Certification preferred; CPR / AED certifications strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Budget preparation/Management
• Athletic Inventory control management
• Recruiting of student trainers
• Attend team practice/competitions to ensure safety of all student athletes
• Oversee athletic insurance requirements
• Facility and equipment maintenance
• Safety monitoring of facilities and student athletes.
• Manage student athlete physical requirements and ensure proper protocol is followed
• Update athletic department handbook as needed.
• Athletics Health Care Administrator following NJCAA protocols.
• To assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director, and/or the College Chancellor.
• Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.
