Job summary

The City of Cheyenne is seeking a Recreation Specialist to lead city-wide Adult and Youth athletic programs. You will plan, direct, and supervise leagues, tournaments, and related activities, while coordinating with schools and community partners to maximize participation and revenue.

Qualifications

• One year of increasingly responsible recreation athletic administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in recreation, physical education or related field (preferred).
• Experience coordinating leagues, events, and facility operations is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, organize, and supervise adult and youth sports leagues and events.
• Develop policies and procedures for assigned activities.
• Oversee registration, scheduling of leagues/tournaments, and facility use.
• Assist with marketing through press releases and flyers and coordinate media appearances.
• Prepare reports on attendance, scheduling, and participant feedback.
