Job summary

Clayton County Parks and Recreation is seeking an Athletic Coordinator to create and promote athletic programs for youth and adults, and to manage facilities, grounds, and finances with a high level of integrity.

The role reports to the Athletic Supervisor and Athletic Manager, and involves registration, scheduling, reporting, safety, and enforcing code of conduct across all activities at the park.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; college coursework in recreation preferred; three (3) years of experience in youth sports programs or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manages registration, assigns participants to teams, and handles registration fees and concessions receipts.
• Prepares daily bank deposits and cash reports; maintains financial records and weekly reports for Fiscal/Procurement Coordinator.
• Maintains parks and facilities; enforces safety and conduct rules; coordinates schedules, tryouts, and openings/closings of events.
• Oversees coaching certification, volunteers, and community service workers; ensures compliance with program rules and department directives.
