Job summary

City of Greer, South Carolina is seeking an Athletic Coordinator to plan and coordinate youth and adult athletic programming for residents and non-residents. You will support the Athletic Supervisor and help direct team sports programs, with emphasis on youth leagues and facility reservations.

The role requires scheduling practices and games, recruiting and supervising coaches and officials, managing budgets, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Parks and Recreation Management, or related field.
• One (1) year of experience in Parks and Recreation or related field.
• Must have a driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Defensive driving, Basic first aid, CPR, fire extinguisher, AED and Blood Borne Pathogens certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and leads athletic programs for all ages with focus on league coordination and facility reservations.
• Enlists, trains, and supervises volunteer coaches for specific sports programs.
• Oversees staff performance and conducts employee appraisals.
• Supervises daily operations in absence of Athletics Supervisor.
• Supervises volunteers and officials for sports programs.
