Job summary

The City of Greer is seeking an Athletic Coordinator to organize youth and adult athletic programming for City residents and non-residents. You will support the Athletic Supervisor of Parks, Recreation & Tourism and help plan, administer, and direct sports programs focused on youth leagues and facility reservations.

This role requires coordinating coaches and officials, scheduling practices and games, maintaining program budgets, handling registrations, and representing the department at events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Parks and Recreation Management, or related field.
• One year of experience in Parks and Recreation or related field.
• Must have a driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Defensive driving training, Basic first aid, CPR, fire extinguisher, AED and Blood Borne Pathogens trainings; City required training.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and leads athletic programs for persons of all ages and abilities with a special focus on sports league coordination and facility reservation management.
• Enlists, trains, and supervises volunteer coaches for specific sports programs.
• Oversees staff performance, directs work, and completes employee appraisals.
• Supervises daily operations of athletics division in absence of Athletics Supervisor.
• Represents the department in athletic matters at meetings and workshops.
• Schedules practices and games for different sports each season.
• Recruiting, scheduling, and paying officials using Arbiter.
