ZP REC & WELLNESS Atlanta, GA, US is seeking a Sports Coordinator to support planning, organization, and execution of youth and adult sports programs across leagues, tournaments, camps, and special events. The role collaborates with the Sports Director to ensure a positive, organized, safe experience for participants.

The position involves on-site supervision, various game-day duties, volunteer coordination, and continuous program improvement, with flexible evenings and weekend hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organization, and operation of youth and adult sports leagues, instructional programs, tournaments, camps, and events.
• Take primary responsibility for assigned sports programs: planning, communication, scheduling, game-day operations, end-of-season admin.
• Manage participant registration, rosters, schedules, standings, playoffs, and league administration.
• Communicate regularly with participants, parents, coaches, officials, volunteers, and team captains.
• Provide on-site supervision and support for games, practices, evaluations, tournaments, and events.
• Serve as a coach, referee, scorekeeper, game clock operator, or other game-day support staff as needed.
• Recruit, schedule, and support volunteer coaches, officials, scorekeepers, and other personnel.
• Assist with facility and equipment prep, setup, distribution, cleanup, and inventory management.
• Ensure programs begin on time, operate efficiently, and follow sports policies, rules, and safety procedures.
• Address participant concerns, resolve conflicts, and respond to game-day challenges professionally.
• Assist with participant recruitment, retention, marketing, and promotion of Sports Department programs.
• Support development of new leagues, tournaments, and events.
• Maintain accurate program information and records using department software and systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve program quality and participant experience.
• Promote a welcoming, inclusive environment emphasizing sportsmanship and community.
