Job summary

City of Columbus is seeking a field maintenance supervisor to oversee athletic surface care and facility upkeep. You will organize field layout, markings, and surface prep for football, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and other sports, ensuring compliance with regulations.

The role requires leadership in coordinating teams, scheduling tasks, and managing safety protocols while liaising with league contacts and coordinating on-site field operations.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisory experience in athletic field construction or maintenance.
• Knowledge of turf grass care, field layout, and safety practices.
• Valid Driver's license and Ohio Commercial Applicator licenses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff and coordinate athletic field maintenance tasks.
• Maintain and prepare football, baseball, soccer, and other fields according to standards.
• Schedule work orders, inspect fields, and arrange repairs or improvements.
• Ensure pesticide applications comply with regulations.
• Communicate with league contacts and act as on-site field coordinator.
• Assist with budgetary planning and recordkeeping.
