Shorter University, a Christ-centered liberal arts university in Rome, Georgia, is seeking an experienced administrator to serve as Athletic Director. The Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for the university’s athletics program, which includes 20 men’s and women’s sports. Shorter University is a member of NCAA Division II and Conference Carolinas.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in athletic administration and fundraising at the collegiate level.
• Knowledge of NCAA regulations and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide Christ-centered leadership for the Department of Athletics and student-athletes.
• Maintain department records, reports on compliance, academics, fundraising, and player eligibility.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise coaches, staff, and volunteers.
• Oversee recruitment and management of Graduate Assistants.
• Develop biblically centered programs for students, coaches, and staff.
• Manage athletic facilities and equipment.
• Develop and oversee the athletic budget and expenditures.
• Foster relationships with Academic Affairs, Admissions, Registrar, and Financial Aid.
• Plan and develop fundraising strategies and resource development plans.
• Represent the university at conferences and national meetings.
• Provide summer missions and ministry opportunities for athletes and coaches.
• Serve as a community liaison for the Athletic Department.
• Ensure compliance with Conference Carolinas and NCAA Division II regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
