The Athletic Director is responsible for building and promoting athletic programs that will encourage a lifelong love of physical activity and an appreciation for teamwork and fair play.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Is a member of an attends regular meetings of the MAISAD league.
  • Ensures that the athletic program reflects the mission and philosophy of the school.
  • Coordinates all athletic activities with other school programs and activities.
  • Communicates with other NEPSAC athletic directors as necessary and maintains strong relationships.
  • Ensures all student-athletes meet eligibility requirements, including physical examinations, academic standards, and transfer regulations.
  • Develops and implements strategies to promote the school’s athletic programs within the community.
  • Arranges and schedules hotel accommodations, transportation and meal money for traveling teams.
  • Advisor to students.

Desired Qualities and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree a plus.
  • Relevant work experience is required.
  • Knows the overall operation of athletic programs.
  • First Aid certification required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and utilize time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents, coaches, student-athletes, and school administration.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Athletic Department and the school community.

Potential Benefits: Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
