The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for overseeing athletic department operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. As part of the administrative team, strong leadership presence is essential. Essential Job Functions
- Have a broad understanding of all department operations to fill in at any position if needed.
- Plan, administer, conduct, and evaluate responsibilities aiming for operational excellence.
- Oversee the Sports Information Department, branding, and marketing efforts related to department vision.
- Manage all aspects of game-day operations professionally, including scorer’s table, team/official liaison, concessions, admissions, and promotions.
- Supervise staff and work-study students, resolving personnel and operational issues.
- Create monthly schedules for operations and locker rooms, ensuring effective communication.
- Oversee the care, cleanliness, and safety of athletic facilities, including maintenance requests and projects.
- Manage day-to-day athletics travel responsibilities, coordinating with coaches, drivers, and rental providers, prioritizing safety and DOT compliance.
- Serve as a liaison to campus partners.
- Assist in planning and executing events like the Student-Athlete Banquet, Graduation luncheons, and Hall of Fame.
- Attend conference and national meetings for ongoing education.
- Work effectively in a high-paced environment, including nights and weekends.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as needed.
