Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking athletic coaches to develop and coach student athletes across sports such as football, basketball, baseball, and more. You will teach skills, ensure safety, and promote equity in a dynamic urban setting.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, CPR certification, CHSAA coaching registration, and preferably a teaching credential. Residency in Colorado and commitment to serving urban youth are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPR certification required (online CPR not accepted).
• CHSAA coaching registration completed or in process.
• Teacher certification preferred.
• Experience coaching or working with urban youth is preferred.
• Commitment to equity and ensuring all students feel seen and heard.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental and advanced athletic skills to athletes.
• Be knowledgeable about sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety.
• Master the rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
• Support coordination and recruitment of student participants.
