Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking coaches to help athletes excel individually and as a team across sports like football, basketball, soccer and more. Candidates should have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and CHSAA registration, with teaching experience or urban youth work preferred.

Roles are paid hourly or as stipends for current DPS employees, with DPS offering time off, health benefits, and PERA retirement as part of Total Rewards.

Qualifications

• Have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain one prior to coaching.
• Teacher Certification is preferred.
• Completion of CHSAA coaching registration.
• Coaching experience or work with urban youth preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental and advanced athletic skills to athletes for competition readiness.
• Be knowledgeable about sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety.
• Become an expert on the rules, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
• Support coordination and recruitment of student participants.
