Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking coaches to help athletes reach their best through teaching fundamentals and advanced skills. You will work to prepare students for competition, emphasize safety, and build knowledge of sport rules and strategies.

The role includes coordinating and recruiting participants within an equity-focused community. Applicants should have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and CHSAA coaching registration; teacher certification is preferred, and prior coaching with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain prior to coaching (online CPR not accepted).
• Teacher Certification is preferred.
• Completion of CHSAA coaching registration.
• Previous coaching experience or experience working with urban youth preferred.
• Commitment to equity and inclusive education for all students.

Responsibilities

• Teach fundamental and advanced athletic skills to athletes for competition.
• Be knowledgeable about sports equipment, fitness, and safety.
• Become an expert on sport rules, strategies, and techniques.
• Support coordination and recruitment of student participants.
