Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking athletic coaches to develop and coach student athletes in multiple sports. The role emphasizes safety, skill development, and competition readiness while supporting recruitment and participation across urban youth programs.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, CPR certification, and CHSAA coaching registration; teaching credentials are a plus. The district values equity and provides total rewards and health benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain before coaching (online CPR not accepted).
  • Teacher Certification is preferred.
  • Completion of CHSAA coaching registration.
  • Coaching experience or experience working with urban youth is preferred.
  • Commitment to equity and dismantling oppression and inequity in the community.
  • Residence in Colorado required.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Teach fundamental and advanced athletic skills to athletes.
  • Knowledgeable about sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety.
  • Become an expert on the rules, strategies, and techniques for the sport.
  • Support coordination and recruitment of student participants.
