Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an intern for its Assurance practice in Ohio. The role offers structured on-the-job training in GAAP/GAAS, hands-on audit support, and collaboration with experienced professionals to develop essential skills and industry relationships.

You will participate in training programs, gain exposure to BDO methodology, and contribute to audits and research projects while pursuing accounting degrees and CPA credentials.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Accounting, required.
• Pursuing a masters degree in Accounting, preferred.
• Leadership experience, preferred.
• Actively pursuing school credits to become a CPA.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions as directed.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Participates in a structured on-the-job training program and become familiar with GAAP and GAAS.
• Becomes familiar with BDO audit methodology to assist with various stages of the audit process.
• Provides various support functions to the audit staff during engagements.
• Communicates with clients' customers, creditors, banks and related parties concerning audit issues.
• Prepares and documents work in working papers using BDO templates.
• Contributes ideas to the audit teams and responds to team members' views.
• Completes one assigned accounting or audit related research project and presents findings to a panel of Assurance professionals.
• Other duties as required.
