Job summary

BDO USA, PC is seeking an Assurance Associate to prepare financial statements with disclosures, apply GAAP, and document control systems. The role involves travel as needed to serve firm and client needs and may include reviews and agreed-upon procedures engagements.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, CPA status or progress toward CPA, and ideally a Master’s in Accountancy. Proficiency in MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics is required.
• CPA certification or progress toward CPA; eligible to sit for CPA exams.
• Master’s in Accountancy preferred.
• Leadership experience or internship in accounting is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements with disclosures under GAAP.
• Document, validate, and test internal control systems.
• Assist with reviews and agreed-upon procedures engagements.
• Travel to meet firm and client needs as required.
• Research basic accounting topics and form initial treatment opinions.
