Job summary

Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation in Massachusetts seeks an Assistant General Counsel for Litigation and Legal Programs to provide legal counsel, litigation support, and program oversight for OCABR and its agencies. The role emphasizes policy development, regulatory interpretation, and supervision of arbitration programs.

The successful candidate will guide agency leadership, manage day-to-day legal operations, and coordinate with the Attorney General.

Qualifications

Must be a lawyer licensed in Massachusetts.
In-depth understanding of MA administrative law and consumer protection laws.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Experience dealing with the public and government officials is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide legal counsel and management for OCABR and constituent agencies.
Oversee arbitration programs: Home Improvement Contractor and Lemon Law.
Manage litigation, administrative proceedings, and regulatory policy development.
Ensure compliance with public records laws and disclosure requirements.
Advise agency leadership on legal, regulatory, and programmatic matters.
Coordinate with the Attorney General and assigned counsel on litigation matters.
