Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks a Deputy General Counsel for Policy and Compliance to lead legal operations for OCABR and its agencies. The role involves developing public policy, coordinating legal matters, and ensuring regulatory compliance across the division.

The DGC will provide oral and written opinions, draft legislation, and liaison with the attorney general’s office, while guiding staff and supervising daily activities. MA licensure required.

Qualifications

• Licensed Massachusetts attorney with strong knowledge of MA administrative and consumer protection law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal oversight on regulatory compliance and policy development.
• Advise OCABR and its agencies on legislation and regulatory issues.
• Draft and review legislation, regulations, and guidelines.
• Support litigation efforts with state AG's office and outside counsel.
• Respond to public records requests and coordinate with agencies.
