Job summary

Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General in Boston seeks an Assistant Attorney General to join the Privacy and Responsible Technology Division. The attorney will pursue major litigation and investigations involving social media, data security and privacy, and the responsible use of technology, working independently or with a team.

Massachusetts Bar eligibility and at least three years of complex litigation experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar or eligible for admission in short order.
• At least three (3) years of complex litigation experience preferred.
• Clear and persuasive written and oral communication skills.
• Effective organizational and time-management abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams of varying experience.

Responsibilities

• Pursue major litigation involving social media platforms, data security and privacy, and emerging technology.
• Investigate and litigate matters in the Privacy and Responsible Technology Division.
• Engage in discovery, depositions, and motion practice; collaborate with state and federal entities.
• Negotiate resolutions that serve the public interest; contribute to educational and policy work.
