Job summary

Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General seeks an Assistant Attorney General for the Consumer Protection Division, Boston or regional office. The AAG will litigate consumer protection matters, pursue enforcement strategies, and participate in policy development, with a focus on protecting vulnerable consumers and advancing racial justice.

Requirements include MA Bar admission, 3+ years of complex litigation experience, excellent writing and advocacy, and language skills; hybrid work model

Qualifications

  • Must be a member of the Massachusetts Bar.
  • At least three years of complex litigation or equivalent legal experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and explain complex data and conduct legal research.
  • Excellent writing, negotiation and oral advocacy skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or other languages preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Pursue major litigation involving consumer protection topics as part of a team.
  • Identify problematic business practices and evaluate enforcement options.
  • Investigate and litigate civil actions on behalf of the Commonwealth.
  • Develop strategies for remedying industrywide consumer abuses and contribute to policy development.
