JOB SUMMARY:
The NARC Assistant Director directs and manages the day-to-day operation of the Needs Assessment and Referral Center, ensuring prospective service recipients' linkage to appropriate resources or care providers. The NARC Assistant Director assigns responsibilities to assure prompt response to patient needs reviews and maintains all documents and departmental logs and insures fair distribution of patients to physicians. The NARC Assistant Director performs NARC Counselor responsibilities and provides telephonic and in person assessments and, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. The NARC Assistant Director collects and analyzes data related to departmental performance indicators.
Job Description:
The Admissions Coordinator works as member of Admissions Department and represents LBHS and its programs to all those inquiring for services. The Admissions Coordinator serves as a liaison between LBHS and referral sources, patients and families. The primary function of the Admissions Coordinator is to facilitate referrals between referring mobile crisis agencies, hospitals and other referral sources in support of the call center operations. The Admissions Coordinator prioritizes referrals made to LBHS and provides exceptional customer service to all partnering agencies. In addition, the Admissions Coordinator will assist in processing patients through admissions including, but no limited to documentation and admissions paperwork. Thorough and accurate documentation of calls and other admissions related paperwork is a critical component of the job.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to varied populations including adults, dually diagnosed patients, children, adolescents and geriatrics in all levels of care.
Education/Licensure: Licensed Physicians, APRN’s, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors, Registered Nurses, Masters in Social Work, Masters in Counseling, Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, or Masters of Psychology required.
Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting. Supervisory experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification: N/A
Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of hospital admissions functions, psychological assessment and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.

Supervision Exercised: NARC Shift Coordinator, NARC Counselor, Call Center Specialist, PBX Supervisor, Operator
