Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking an Associate Underwriter to evaluate and price new business and renewals within designated authority. You will enter policy information, process endorsements, audits and other policy transactions to support profitable growth while delivering excellent service.

This role requires a high school diploma, 2 years in a professional insurance environment, and a preferred Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two years' experience in a professional business or insurance environment preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred and may substitute for experience.
• Preference may be shown to applicants who have previous commercial lines underwriting experience.
• Proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine selection, evaluation, and pricing of assigned risks for commercial policies.
• Review new and renewal requests and determine acceptability per guidelines.
• Perform new business setup and rating to develop quotes.
• Issue and assemble policies with proper policy construction.
• Process endorsements, cancellations, declinations, and reissues of policies.
• Field routine agency service requests and refer complex issues to mentors.
• Ensure accurate and timely servicing of accounts.
• Maintain knowledge of internal systems and rating programs.
• Complete supplemental underwriting reports and referrals within authority.
