Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking an Associate Underwriter to evaluate, price, and process commercial lines for accounts within designated authority. You will issue policies, endorsements, and handle basic endorsements and renewals while maintaining strong customer service.

This role reports to a Manager in Commercial Lines Underwriting Services and emphasizes accurate data entry, adherence to guidelines, and effective collaboration with team members across states.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Two years' experience in a professional business or insurance environment preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred and may substitute for experience.
• Preference for applicants with commercial lines underwriting experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine selection, evaluation, and pricing of assigned risks for commercial policies.
• Review new and renewal requests for acceptability using Encova and state rules.
• Set up new business quotes and proposals including rating information.
• Issue and assemble policies with correct policy construction.
