Job summary

Encova Insurance is seeking a middle market underwriter to review risks, determine acceptability, and price commercial lines accounts. You will assess exposures, usage of industry rules, and communicate decisions to producers and agents.

The role reports to a Regional Vice President, Commercial Lines and requires strong analytical and negotiation skills with at least 2 years of underwriting experience in package lines or workers' compensation. Hybrid work options may apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of commercial lines underwriting experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; significant underwriting experience may substitute.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Review risks, determine acceptability, and price commercial lines accounts.
• Analyze risk using Encova, NCCI, ISO rules and guidelines.
• Identify new business opportunities within current agencies.
• Provide underwriting support to agents and respond to questions.
• Prepare proposals and negotiate terms and conditions.
