We are seeking an underwriting support professional to service a book of business under the direct supervision of an underwriter and help prepare quotes, bind policies, and process endorsements. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 2+ years in underwriting support or excess and surplus lines, and a demonstrated background in

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of underwriting support or industry experience with excess and surplus lines preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing preferred.
• Proven organization skills with strong attention to detail.
• Interest in continuing education to obtain full underwriting authority.
• Technologically savvy and data-driven.

Responsibilities

• Service a book of business under the direct supervision of an underwriter.
• Evaluate, classify, and rate risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for quotes.
• Log applications, prepare binders, and process policies and endorsements.
• Bind risk, post invoices, and process technical data.
• Screen renewal applications and send renewal letters; assist with underwriting and quotes for underwriter approval.
• Assist with new business development and follow up on inspections; handle endorsements and referrals.
• Manage relationships with retail agents and gather information to complete underwriting files.
