Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Austin, TX, seeks an Associate Travel Demand Modeler to join our Advisory Services, Systems Analysis Group.

You will develop and apply travel demand forecasting models for regional and statewide systems and translate results into actionable insights for policy, planning, and infrastructure investment. Collaborate with planners, data scientists, modelers, and clients to integrate big data, surveys, and mobility datasets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field as listed.
• 1–3 years of experience in travel demand models.
• Strong knowledge of travel behavior and forecasting methods.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data processing and scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Cube, TransCAD, and EMME.
• Experience building automated reporting, visualizations, and dashboards (Tableau, PowerBI, R Shiny).
• Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS or QGIS) for spatial analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, apply, and maintain travel demand forecasting models for regional and statewide systems.
• Deliver data-driven insights to inform policy, planning, and infrastructure investments.
• Integrate and analyze big data, surveys, and mobility datasets to improve models.
• Collaborate with public and private planning agencies on transportation projects.
