Job summary

Goldman Sachs Services LLC in Salt Lake City, Utah seeks an Associate, Systems Engineering to develop expertise across storage, operating systems, databases, messaging, market data, and software languages. You will contribute to the firm’s Listed Clearing software and data infrastructure by identifying internal hardware and implementing cloud-based solutions for on-demand scaling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field with 1–3 years (Master’s: 1 year) of related experience.
• Experience performing performance tuning and troubleshooting of application and database issues.
• Proficiency with UNIX/Linux OS and shell scripting; strong Java development background.
• Familiarity with SDLC activities and tooling such as GitHub; experience with DB2 or Sybase ASE.
• Experience with messaging systems (MQ/EMS) and building scalable data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise across engineering domains including storage, OS, databases, and messaging.
• Contribute to design and support of cloud-based solutions with on-demand scaling.
• Apply data interrogation, Generative AI, and ML techniques to identify issues and automate resolutions.
• Develop monitoring and observability to track application health and performance.
• Plan, implement, and test disaster recovery capabilities for enterprise applications.
