Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking an Associate in Systems Engineering in Draper, Utah. You will help design and optimize the firm’s data infrastructure, implement public and private cloud solutions, and automate testing and monitoring to ensure reliable, scalable services.

The role requires expertise across databases, operating systems, and software languages, with a strong focus on performance tuning, debugging, and SDLC practices.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field and one year of experience in job offered or related role OR Bachelor’s degree in related field and three years of experience.
• Experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting application issues; cloud-based applications (AWS, GCP or similar); software development using UNIX, Shell scripting, or Python; database systems such as MongoDB; SDLC including requirements, design, coding, testing, release and support; SQL performance tuning and diagnosing performance issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise across Engineering domains including datacenter design, networks, storage, grid compute, operating systems and databases.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve application issues; document resolutions and minimize operational errors.
• Automate testing processes, improve monitoring and change management; monitor risk and ensure production stability.
