Job summary

The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is seeking an Associate, Systems Engineering in Salt Lake City, Utah, to help design and enhance the firm’s Listed Clearing software and data infrastructure.

You will implement on-demand cloud solutions and monitor performance across storage, OS, databases, and messaging. You will apply data interrogation, AI and machine learning techniques to identify issues, optimize systems, and ensure resilient production environments through change management and incident

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or related field with 3 years (or 1 year with Master’s) of related experience.
• Experience includes SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting by analyzing query execution plans, Java debugging, or log analysis.
• Experience with UNIX OS, shell scripting, or OO languages like Java; production systems using DB2 or Sybase ASE; and messaging technologies like MQ/EMS.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise across engineering domains: storage, OS, databases, messaging, market data, and interfaces.
• Contribute to design and development of Listed Clearing software and data infra, implementing cloud-based on-demand scaling.
• Apply data interrogation, Generative AI, and ML to identify and react to problems in infrastructure and platforms.
• Create Skills for AI agents to enable automated resolution of repetitive issues.
• Develop monitoring and observability to track health and service performance.
